NY Fashion Week Inspired Lip Looks: Eco Style!

When Jasmin Malik Chua of the hot, new Eco Fashion and Beauty blog, Ecouterre asked us about our favorite NYFW inspired lip looks, we were all too axcited to divulge. Read the brilliant tips offered by makeup artist Jessa Blades and others HERE and find the rest of ours HERE!

We love that lips are back for Spring 2010 and we are ready for these looks now!– whether they’re soft and barely-there pink or Grace Jones black. We were getting very bored with the nude lip!

Instead of almost-black, sheer but dark burgundy colors like RMS Beauty’s Illusive, can work on all skin tones. The key to this look is perfect application. Use a lip brush to get it just right and avoid looking like a zombie.

The key to bright lips is to go really low-key with the rest of the face palette and to even out the skin with a matte mineral powder foundation so that the lips really pop. Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation and Nvey Eco’s Lead-Free moisturizing lipstick in 369 are perfect for this Mad Men look.

Beauty can be sort of counter-intuitive in that dark and bright lips are actually best for day and soft, sultry, light pink lips are actually best for a kittenish evening look. To get this look, start with RMS Beauty in Muse or Smile for a sexy, opaque base then layer Nvey Eco’s Lip Lustre in Amour Rose or Barely There over the top for the pink shimmer. The secret to this look is the base. You don’t want bubble-gum pink and pink lip gloss can look too immature without the base.

The Coveted RMS Beauty Arrives!

rms beautyrms beautySpirit Beauty Lounge is proud to be the new exclusive online-only retailer of rms beauty, a brand new line of pure organic make-up, created by celebrity make-up artist, Rose-Marie Swift. Her innovative natural range is not only free of harmful chemicals, but can actually heal and nourish the skin while making you gorgeous! A favorite of celebrities like Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, Karolina Kurkova, and Zoe Saldana, rms beauty is formulated with raw, food grade, organic ingredients in their natural state. The result is nutrients synergistically interacting with skin to promote hydration, softness, total radiance, and bring instant life to your face. And because of the pure nature of the ingredients, all colors in the range of lip and skin balm, “un” cover-up, lip2cheek, cream eye shadow and living luminizer – are easily blended to create your own personal palette. The application is mistake-proof. Most colors start out sheer and can be built up to full coverage without the clumsy fuss of powders and brushes. When we met with Rose Marie, we were first stunned by the dewy luminosity of her own skin, and second by the healthy, diffuse glow she was able to give us with only a few swipes of her soft, silky Un-Cover Up under the eyes and a smoosh of Lip2Cheek on the apples of our cheeks. Suddenly our sleep-deprived faces looked almost supermodel-post-pilates glowy, just like Rose Marie’s!

Don’t just take our word for it. Check out what other Beauty Industry experts had to say about this amazing new line:

Roxy at For The Love of Beauty was “Quite Impressed…”
and Self Magazine confirms that when it comes to a list of ingredients, for RMS Beauty, “less does equal more…!”
