I've tried countless cleansers and this by far is probably the best cleanser I've used. First of all, the smell transports you to Christmas time. The consistency is in powder form and all you need to do is add water to it, rub and slather it onto your skin. I put about a nickel size onto my palm and that covers my whole face.
In the summer, my skin naturally becomes more oily, congested, and a bit more sensitive. I acquire sun rashes around my face also. I noticed that after cleaning with this, my rashes seemed to diminish.

Love this!! I have really sensitive skin (I use Retin A among other things) but this does not irritate my skin at all. Just the opposite, my skin loves this! Its such a different cleansing experience and feels so indulgent, I don't need to use my clarisonic when I use this.

This cleanser is such a treat! Its triple the fun, to me it feels like a cleanser, scrub, and mask all in one. I love to apply it and leave it on for a couple of minutes while I shower, then gently buff the skin before removing it. My skin feels deeply cleansed yet not stripped. Mixing the product with water turns the powder into a mousse like texture that is like nothing I've ever experienced before. Overall, the full May Lindstrom line has created products that transformed my skin care ritual into such a lovely experience. I love the packaging, the aromas, and mixing the products. Beautiful!

Awesome product! This and the Problem Solver = very happy skin. Unlike any other exfoliating product on the market! Blows the brushes, sponges, granules, etc. out the water.

This cleanser is awesome! Between The Clean Dirt, raw honey, and a Konjac sponge, I may never need to use anything else to clean my face ever again. I really like the powder form because it eliminates the need for fillers and preservatives; plus, you can customize the cleansing process. For example, when mixing, you could use aloe instead of water or even use yogurt to make it into a gentle mask. There's a bit of a warming sensation when you put it on, but it's not nearly as intense as The Problem Solver. Still, I think it does a good job of taking off makeup without stripping my skin. Will repurchase :)

I have the crankiest crank skin that was ever draped over bone and muscle. Rosacea, adult acne, dry patches ... daily disaster. I've lived with a pink, blotchy pair of parentheses on either side of my nose and across my cheeks for my entire adult life. A new cleanser would more or less clear my skin, but the blotchiness would always return within days. Recently, it finally dawned on me that I should try natural, organic cleansers and moisturizers. I now have two in my rotation - The Clean Dirt is my night-time cleanser. Despite its light exfoliating properties (usually a death knell for my skin), it acts very gently, and gives me a thorough clean without stirring up my skin's inner grump. Paired with an immediate application of Youth Dew, I awake in the morning with clear, pale skin (which is a very good thing - I haven't had my natural fair skin in years). This is good stuff, and I love the application process. After a few tries, you get the "mousse" texture down pat. (I haven't had any issues with a yellow residue remaining behind after rinsing.) The product might seem pricey, but the bottle is quite substantial. I'm hoping it will be the first cleanser I actually run out of.

This product is awesome. Once you get used to preparing it in your palm with a little water, it feels great and smells amazing. Gently exfoliates, my skin feels wonderful afterwards and it really cleaned out my pores.

It smells divine, feels luxurious, clears skin, and (bonus!) looks gorgeous on a bathroom counter. I use it mostly in the morning, just a bit to "wake up" skin that doesn't need much cleansing. Also perfect as part of a deep cleanse home spa experience. Is it made of a lot of ingredients that you technically can purchase at a health food store? Yeah. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Having this product hand-made with fresh ingredients is everything- these are not your grocery store herbs and spices. The bottle really does make a huge difference as well. I lost the cap for mine and despite my efforts to keep it sealed, it started to lose its potency and vibrancy immediately. The question of price vs. length of use comes up a lot with natural products, and The Clean Dirt absolutely delivers. I've been using mine regularly for about five months and I've still got a few weeks worth left. Love!

I do like this cleanser, but the price is silly. I've tried other clay-based cleansers like this and like those just as much...but didn't pay as much as I did for this one. But, I've been enjoying using this quite a bit. It smells deliciously spicy, is easy to use, and leaves my face comfortably clean. I do notice that it doesn't completely rinse off, though. So, I wipe the rest off with a floral water toner.

There's a bit of a learning curve for anyone not used to dry cleansers! Watch the video and it'll help, although you don't need to use quite as much as the model. Rise well and the skin glows and feels clean but not tight. Fantastic followed up with a facial oil.

I keep a special bowl in my bathroom to mix up this product in and I love the process/ritual of preparing the product. I do think I've been using too much water so far, mine is much runnier than what is shown in the video, so I'm still working at getting just the right consistency. Even so, this dirt is pretty great. My skin feels lovely after use. One caveat, no matter how much I rinse, when I dry my face with a white cloth I always get a yellow residue off of my skin. I believe this is color from the rhassoul clay. It's not a huge deal, and I don't feel that it's clogging my pores or anything, but it makes the extra step of wiping my face with a clean washcloth after cleansing a must. I don't want any yellow tint left on my pale complexion.

As other reviewers have noted, this isn't the ideal product for makeup removal (you'd never put it around your eyes), but I think it's a wonderful cleanser/exfoliator for special occasion use. When I want to pamper myself this is the kind of product I'll whip out as my facial scrub. A lovely addition to a soak in the tub and a deep conditioning for your hair. I plan to try this sometime as a facial mask, and let the product completely dry on my skin before washing it off.

Lastly, this comes in such a beautiful black glass jar. I love the way this looks sitting out in my bathroom and I know I will reuse the jar once the product is gone. In addition, no worries about what is leaching into the product from any plastic packaging. That's the cherry on top for me!

I wanted to love this soo bad... though while it didn't clog my pores (win), it left my face irritated from the exfoliation and in need of moisturizer (which most dooo clog my skin). Normally, I'm a fan of only cleansing once a day at night... and not moisturizing after. So I think for sensitive, combo types like mine... a gentle cleanser would've been better. Hopefully Pai...? Luckily, SBL has a great return policy..

As stated in the title, I love the smell of this product. I am always drawn towards spicy scents, though, so that's a more personal thing. After the first use, I loved it. It deep cleaned, increased blood flow and brought an immediate noticeable glow to my skin. I also like to use this on my neck, chest, and shoulders. It was a little tricky to use at first bc its a powder and u have to be careful when pouring it out that u don't get too much. For shower use, I'd recommend pouring some into a little bowl instead of taking the whole bottle in. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars bc it's not a good everyday cleanser for me. I can use this every couple a days at the most. Also it cannot be used around the eyes, so it's not good for removing makeup if, like me, u are used to your cleanser doing that in one step. Otherwise, I love it and plan to always keep it in stock in my beauty arsenal!

I will have to deviate from the norm by saying that while I really like this product, if you have slightly sensitive skin like me, you should think of this as a scrub rather than a cleanser. The sea salt granules were much too abrasive (hence I guess the microdermabrasion reference) and the combination of clays were drying. I started developing redness on my chin and cheeks after using this three times a week. That being said, I still like this product because it does smooth my skin after using. I've relegated to using this about once a month and use The Problem Solver much more often.

While this IS expensive, it's worth it. In the winter my skin gets really dry and flaky (and very sensitive), but since getting pregnant, my skin has also broken out in acne. This seems to take care of all my problems. I was worried it would be too harsh for my skin, but its not. My skin is softer, smoother, and more moisturized, while also clearer. My skin was looking congested, especially my t-zone (lots of blackheads), but this has really helped. I finally feel like I'm getting that "glow" that supposedly comes from being pregnant. My skin just looks healthier and rosier. I use this with Dr. Alkaitis soothing gel, intelligent nutrients serum, and pai sensitive skin moisturizer with excellent results. I also LOVE the scent, reminds me of Christmas, my favorite holiday.

I absolutely love the way this smells - it's a great way to wake up in the morning! It also cleans and exfoliates very well. Some of the "dirt" does not completely dissolve in water so it does actually scrub. The only con I encountered is some yellow that I couldn't always rinse clean from my skin, so it ended up on white towels - I love this too much for this to stop me from using it, though. My skin is soft and my blemishes go away more quickly (and I'm pretty sure there are less of them).

This product smells amazing, and everything about it feels luxurious. I know that's not the best reasons to buy a product, but I also really think it has made a difference in my skin, and I have only been using it one week! My skin is clearer and seems healthier, and I like how this gives my skin a bit of a scrub but is still really gentle and hydrates as well. I have dry, sensitive skin, so that is a big deal for me!

It's a powder, so it can be little bit messy (which is stressful, since it's expensive and you don't want to waste any!), but that is the only downside I can see. I am really happy with my purchase, and would definitely buy this again!

Wasn't sure I'd find a cleanser I like more than Tata Harper's, but this is it. Smells amazing, exfoliates, balances, and makes you glow. What could be better? Especially when you follow with the Youth Dew. You are almost guaranteed to have glowy, beautiful skin. It's a treat to use.

I love this cleanser. It exfoliates without drying or irritating my skin. I glow after using this. Then I put on the Youth Dew. There is nothing better.

I love using this product. I'm surprised some people say its more pastey than foamy - maybe they aren't using enough water? Mine always froths/foams. Anyway - the smell reminds me of gingerbread & always puts me in a good mood. It does not strip the skin or leave a film whatsoever. Very balancing - pore refining AND plumping. I look forward to using this every night before bed. A nice change from the typical cleanser options: soap (too stripping for me) OR cream cleansers (always feels like I'm not clean). Fantastic product. Gorgeous packaging too.

I agree with all the other rave reviews. Smells great, works great (especially if you leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing off). I would recommend using every other day depending on how sensitive your skin is. And a little goes a long way.

After first use, I had a visible reduction of pore appearance! I'm in heaven.

Usage: quite impressed by the weighty, ceramic bottle that just feels like class. I like the powder to paste process, makes me feel like an alchemist. & smells like cloves too! The texture provides a deep exfoliation that leaves skin feeling polished & fresh!

This product smells soooo goooood!! For ages I have dreamed of a skin care to smell like this, it smells like Christmas: nutmeg, clove, cinnamon they come really strongly to my nose. I can imagine that this would be a perfect gift for end of the year. It does have a quite distinctive and strong smell so if you don't like the scent, you cannot avoid it especially given that the smell lasts for quite awhile, on my hands too. It's hard to stop sniffing, it's that good.

As for the performance, the best cleanser-exfoliator yet. I have tried Tata Harper's but it congests my skin due to the waxes and the beads felt too abrasive on my skin, so if you want a cleanser without the wax I recommend you this one! The beads/scrubs are in a perfect texture, it won't feel scratchy at all on your skin. Many people have tried Regenerating Cleanser by TH, this is a gentler version so it's good too for daily use.

I have acne-prone skin so I am more than happy to review on how well this product has worked on my skin. I have congestions on my lower cheeks and was scared of aggravating them even more. However, this product is gentle for me, and this helps in getting rid of them. Particularly for blackheads, almost in an instant. Many of the reviewers claim that after using this they get the softest skin ever and I cannot deny. It conquers the rough patches/dry flaky skin I have in just one use.

I personally have not come across a product that is as good as this, especially a cleanser. This does not only cleanse my skin at the end of the day, but also heal and prevent future break-outs.

As a side note, the Clean Dirt can be treated as a daily cleanser or as a treatment. I used to use it as a facial scrub (once every 3 days), but started using it daily and it works out really well without being sensitive. However, you know your skin best so you should adjust depending on how your skin feels! :) :)
I also like to leave this on as a mask for a few minutes just because all of the ingredients are literally so good for your skin too, I love cleansing clays, it purges out impurities really effectively.

One more thing that I may add: I have never had a success with putting baking soda alone on my face as a mask (I get really sensitive from it) but both this cleanser and the mask although containing baking soda NEVER leaves my skin uncomfortable.

I love this cleanser. I use it every other morning and everything about it just makes your skin feel so refreshed. The smell is also addicting. The eye-catching packaging doesn't hurt either.

I absolutely love this cleanser. It smells like cinnamon and cloves and makes my skin very happy. I would not normally spend this much on a cleanser (I'd normally rather splurge on a moisturizer or serum, since it stays on your skin). but I'm so glad I did. It's a big bottle that will last a long time, and it's powder, so you're not paying for something that is diluted with water. Besides, I have never used a cleanser that made such an immediate difference in my skin.

Love this product. At first I thought this product was kinda odd. But over time I have grown to appreciate the lovely smell. I agree with other uses that it reminds me of Christmas. I love using this product and would love it if her whole product line smells like this. I have also purchased the face mask. I will probably purchase some of her other products.

I really like this cleanser. It is definitely an unusual product. It smells like Christmas and comes in powder form. It's not that messy you just have to make sure you don't add too much water, just a few drops. I would say it has more of a grainy paste consistency than mousse. I love using the product though... it gets a really deep clean and makes my skin feel so smooth and look radiant. I think my skin has looked a lot better since using this cleanser. I definitely will keep using it!

Not like a traditional cleanser but I love the ingredients in it, super pure and it smells like Christmas spices. Beautiful. I use this as my morning cleanser and it does a great job of invigorating my skin for the day, without leaving it tight or with a film on it. It is a little messy to use, but it's just the matter of getting used to mixing it gently with a touch of water. Super, pure, super clean.

I'm in love with this cleanser. It deep-cleanses, nourishes, and gently exfoliates. Been using it for about 2 weeks and my skin is delighted. What's wonderful is that while it detoxifies and purges the pores it does not leave my skin tight. In fact, it's rather supple and luminous when I rinse. Also love the integrity and potency of the ingredients. You add a few drops of water, it fizzes up and is ready to work its magic. Yes, it is a little messy but when I go ahead to clean the sink I actually think of how beautifully this product cleanses my face and suddenly cleaning becomes an act of gratitude. Gotta love that. This is my absolute favorite facial cleanser. It's a little messy at first but so worth it. Never has my skin felt smoother or more refined, while not at all abraded or irritated. For scrub and exfoliant addicts - put down that plastic, electric face brush and get natural! This gives you that deep clean, invisible pore look & feeling with only skin nurturing ingredients. I cannot recommend this enough to just about anyone who has issues with pore congestion, uneven texture, dry skin, oily skin, and almost everything in between except truly sensitive, damaged or broken skin. LOVE, love, love this!
