It started with a harmless quest for perfect wash-and-go hair. Every girl wants it, and Siobhan O'Connor and Alexandra Spunt finally found it in a fancy salon treatment. They were thrilled—until they discovered that the magic ingredient was formaldehyde. Shocked, O'Connor and Spunt left no bottle unturned. If it went on their body (and thus, was absorbed into their skin and bloodstream), they researched it. As it turns out, many of those unpronounceable ingredients in your self-tanner and leave-in conditioner are not regulated and the 'natural' on your face wash doesn't mean what you think it does.
Now, with the help of top scientists, dermatologists, and makeup artists, the authors share their compelling findings and the easy way to detoxify your beauty regimen.
No More Dirty Looks also reveals the safest, most effective products on the market and time-tested home recipes. Finally, you don't need to sacrifice health for beauty—because coming clean is the best look yet.

I'm sure this book was the catalyst for a lot of green beauties that shop here at Spirit! It's indispensable if you're just starting out. Siobhan & Alexandra explain everything very If you're a little bit more experienced with green beauty products and the dangers of chemicals in traditional beauty products, it might not be quite as useful. A great book, though (as is their blog!)

Fantastic Book
August 16, 2012
I received this book for my bday last year and it has changed my life! It was enjoyable to read and very informative. I took plenty of notes as I read and I really appreciated all of the product reviews that were included. I now frequent the blog for updates and additional info (though there is stuff in the book that you won't find on the blog, so definitely read it!) I have since been buying it/borrowing it to all my girlfriends and have changed the way I buy personal care products. I hope you will read, enjoy and share this, as well!

I love the girls from No More Dirty Looks, I have read another book on the topic, but I really like how they wrote this and how they give some suggestions for products. They help make the transition easier (just like Spirit does). I recommend this for anybody interested in making a change in their beauty routine.

This book is good for those who are beginning to change to natural and gives good examples of products form each category that they consider natural.(I'm the parinoid natural girl who so some products they recommend I would get but that just me) nice to have to read about ingredients.

If it weren't for this book, I would probably still be using products that claimed they were natural, but really contained harmful chemicals. I wouldn't have ever discovered SBL if it weren't for this book, either! Their website is phenomenal - subscribe to the newsletter as well!
